Everton’s new manager must ensure he gets the best out of this midfielder in the second half of the season

It’s been a catastrophic start to the Premier League season for Everton, who have already parted company with manager Ronald Koeman and look no closer to sealing a new manager following the sacking of the Dutchman.

The Toffees spent big in the summer, and despite losing star turn Romelu Lukaku, many expected the blue half of Merseyside to have some decent success with some of the quality they brought through the Goodison Park doors in replacement of the big Belgian.

However, things have not worked out, and our landlord here at the Tavern thinks any new manager coming into the club has a serious job on his hands, but must get the best out of some of his new stars. One player in particular he thinks needs a boost and could benefit the Toffees if on form is Dutch midfielder Davy Klaassen.

Signed from Ajax in the summer, there were high hopes surrounding the attacking midfield ace, whose technical ability and goalscoring touch should not be overlooked just because of his poor start on Merseyside.

Klaassen could well be the key for Everton’s new manager if form is to be turned around and results are to improve, and while talk of a loan move away in January is rife, it would be wiser for Everton to keep hold of their new midfielder and get the best out of him.

Everton fans, what do you make of Klaassen? Can he come good? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
