The Everton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that he can make it back in time…
International breaks are often a worrying prospect for the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern – with there always a fear that a player could come back with an injury causing them to miss out on Premier League game time.
It is always a risk – and it would appear the Everton are set to suffer the brunt of that risk ahead of their crunch clash against Manchester City next weekend.
As per the Daily Mail, Romelu Lukaku is a doubt for the game after suffering an injury playing for Belgium on Friday.
Results from the scan over the weekend are yet to emerge – but it is certainly possible that the Belgian could miss valuable game time for the Blues.
Speaking about the injury, Lukaku said: “I felt something but we will see” – with Lukaku seemingly ready to have a scan before jumping to conclusions.
Lukaku has been in fine form so far this season, having bagged an impressive five Premier League goals so far.
The Everton fans in the Tavern are really counting on him to help them reach European football this season.
Our landlord thinks he could be a shoe-in for the Golden Boot this year…
