Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are realising that as well as selling first team players, they must also get rid of the deadwood, after the Daily Mail revealed Scott Sinclair has targeted Aston Villa as his next club.
The former Chelsea and Swansea City man has found himself used as nothing more than a benchwarmer at the Etihad.
But in January he was loaned to Villa who are struggling in a relegation fight but since his arrival he has impressed the fans at Villa Park.
Tim Sherwood, who has revitalised the Villains, has the option to make the switch permanent in the summer for as little as £2.5m.
And the pacey winger could be exactly the sort of player Sherwood is looking for, as he looks to bring exciting attacking football back to the club.
The 26-year-old, who has scored three goals in 10 games for Villa, said: ‘I feel at home at Villa, it’s a great club, I’m sure at the end of the season we can sit down and I can sign. Definitely.’
