There are interested faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by Metro that Cardiff City want to add a former Liverpool player to their squad next season.
The Welsh club are of course set to join the Premier League after a fantastic campaign in the Championship and are already looking around to find players who fit the mould they require in order to avoid the drop next season.
Former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has found himself on their radar and given his successful time at Anfield this comes as little surprise. Always there to pop up with a goal if needed especially in big games and the Champions League, Kuyt may be about to turn 33 but the Bluebirds feel he is exactly what they need.
The player moved to Fenerbahce in a deal worth around £1 million last summer and Cardiff are willing to bring him back to the Premier League with part of the £25 million budget they possess to work towards survival next season. Kuyt is understood to be willing to consider a move back to these shores and Cardiff feel that they can land the player for much less than the £1 million the Istanbul-based club paid for his services.
Will Cardiff pull off something of a coup and land Dirk Kuyt? Rate this rumour below.
