Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting frustrated with their former manager as ESPN revealed that Roberto Mancini says that Yaya Toure wants to join Inter Milan.
Toure, who was explosive last season, has not been himself this term and this has led to speculation that he will look for a fresh start next summer.
The Ivorian international worked well with Mancini and a move to Inter Milan would be a fresh challenge for the 31-year-old.
Toure is not shy of moving on, having played for six clubs already in his career, and Italy would be a suitable place for him to retire.
Mancini believes that Inter Milan would stand a good chance of landing his former talisman.
“Yaya’s played in all the top leagues apart from Germany and Italy and if he, as it seems, would like to come to Italy, then there is this possibility,” Mancini said.
“It’s not going to be easy. He’s a player with personality and incredible technical quality, but if he were to come to Italy, then Inter would certainly be his first choice.”
Although many would assume that City would want to keep their powerful midfielder, Financial Fair Play may change their mind.
Because there are question marks as to whether or not they have broken the regulations, if they sold Toure for big bucks, it would allow them to spend in the summer.
