The Chelsea supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern have been distraught at the form of last season’s Player of the Year Eden Hazard this term and fear that the Belgian’s heart might not be in playing for the Blues any longer, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
An ex-Premier League boss believes that his poor form could be down to the fact that he has been tapped-up by another club ahead of a summer move.
Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp believes that all clubs speak to players on the sly nowadays and claims that when he was manager at White Hart Lane he tried to have a discussion with Hazard, who was at Lille at the time.
Redknapp told The Mirror: “Chelsea will have a battle on their hands because people must already be talking to Hazard. It happens.
“Someone’s got inside the boy’s head. It is the only explanation for such a drop in form.
“I had a meeting, as a Spurs boss, with Hazard in a Paris hotel when he was at Lille. Players I have had have been approached too – you’re not happy, but you accept it is part of the game now.”
The quotes from the former Spurs boss are interesting to say the least but one Chelsea fan who is sat waiting for his wife to finish shopping with a pint in his hand thinks Redknapp should butt out and just because he experienced it at Spurs, doesn’t mean Hazard has been the victim of having his head turned.
Chelsea fans… What do you make to these comments from Harry?
