According to Metro, former Red Devil himself Neville has dropped a huge hint that the club could sell Juan Mata in January.
Mata has featured in Louis van Gaal’s team but started on the bench against Leicester City at the weekend where the Red Devils dramatically crashed out 5-3 to the Premier League new boys.
The Spaniard is expected to take up a lesser role following United’s deadline day loan capture of Radamel Falcao.
Despite United spending a huge £37.1 million to sign their playmaker from Chelsea earlier this year, Neville has suggested that they could part with Mata far sooner than originally expected.
“He has done well, Mata, when he has played in central areas and his goalscoring record is good,” Neville said.
“But I always wondered whether he has a long-term future at United.
“When I watch him at Old Trafford, he isn’t dynamic enough and with Angel Di Maria in the team, they have to get Radamel Falcao in.”
Italian champions Juventus have been the name most frequently linked with a January swoop for Mata and the Bianconeri have previous in regards to snaring former Red Devils in the form of Paul Pogba and Patrice Evra.
