‘Exactly what we need’ – Chelsea fans urge Abramovich to land £58.5m-rated attacker as Morata woes continue

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to lose their patience with Alvaro Morata.

There was a sense of excitement in the pub when Morata moved to Chelsea over the summer. Though unproven over a long period of time, the Spaniard had enjoyed a remarkable minutes-to-goals ration in the years prior to moving to London, and with Diego Costa moving to Atletico Madrid, he seemed like the perfect replacement.

Things started well for him, too, picking up a handful of goals in the opening few games of the season. Displaying the same lethality in front of goal as Costa, combined with better technique and speed, Morata was impressing.

However, over the last few weeks, he has stumbled. His goalscoring has dried up, and he was arguably the worst player on the pitch for Chelsea against Leicester City.

It will come as no surprise, then, to learn that fans have seemingly had enough. Chelsea supporters have taken to Twitter in their droves over the last few days, with many calling for Roman Abramovich to finance the signing of a new forward.

The man that most want to see join, it seems, is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon forward is apparently available, and could be on his way to Arsenal according to Guillem Balague, but clearly the Chelsea faithful want their side to gazump their London rivals.

It wouldn’t be easy, and given that he is rated at £58.5 million by Transfer Markt, it wouldn’t be cheap – but with 13 goals in 15 league games this season, he’d surely be worth every penny. At least, the Chelsea fans think so.
