For the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, every game is a must-win fixture…
However, it must be noted that – this season at least – the Carabao Cup holds markedly less significance than the other competitions that Chelsea are fighting for.
Lacking the prestige of the Premier League or the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup is often seen as an opportunity to give fringe players a chance, and Antonio Conte has revealed that he is planning on using it to do just that this week.
Against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, at least two young players will be getting their chance, with Conte stating ahead of the game that both Charly Musonda and Kenedy will feature.
The Italian indicates both Charly Musonda and Kenedy could feature. He says the Brazilian deserves a chance. #CFC

It remains to be seen just how long each player will get, but both certainly have a lot of scope to start the game.
Kenedy, in particular, could come in for Marcos Alonso on the left-hand side, with the Spaniard in desperate need of a rest. Charly Musonda, meanwhile, could take Pedro or Willian’s place in the side, given that both the players have played a lot of football this season.
With the Italian also confirming that Eden Hazard will be back to start the game, it’s looking to be a very exciting clash for the Blues.
Musonda looked good during pre-season, and he definitely deserves a chance to shine. He has, of course, already had experience playing senior football with Real Betis in Spain, and so he should fit right in.
Likewise, Kenedy is no spring chicken, either, having featured fairly regularly under Jose Mourinho.
It’s going to be a very exciting game for the Blues and despite all the changes, for those betting online 888sport still has Chelsea as heavy favourites.
