The Aston Villa fans are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening and discussing the credentials of the man who has jumped to the top of the list of replacements for Remi Garde.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Nigel Pearson is the man they want to replace the Frenchman should they decide to dispense with his services.
Speculation suggests that Villa chairman Steve Hollis could end Garde’s spell at the struggling Premier League side within the next 48 hours as he continues to look towards rebuilding the club ready for next season’s assault on the Championship.
Garde has overseen just two wins in 20 Premier League games in charge, but has failed miserably in instilling any fight into the beleaguered strugglers and is set to pay the price.
With Pearson known for his no nonsense approach would no doubt fire the players up and he also knows what it takes to lead a side to success in the Championship having previously led Leicester City to the title.
The Aston Villa fans in The Tavern are delighted that Pearson could be the man in control of the club and believe he is the right man given the right support to get the club back to the Premier League.
