Our resident Manchester City fans who were chilling with a nice cold pint after the intensity of their Capital One Cup final victory against Liverpool have been alerted to comments made by one of the Anfield club’s players.
The comments were made by former Manchester City defender Kolo Toure, who believes that his brother Yaya Toure will stay at the Etihad next season.
The 32-year old has been largely tipped to leave City at the end of the season with the arrival of Pep Guardiola, who sold him to City when he was in charge at Barcelona.
However, Kolo Toure believes that his younger brother will remain in Manchester under the Spanish coach as he told The Daily Mail.
“Everybody wants to play for Pep. He is a top manager. They know each other very well and I don’t think it will be a problem if they keep working together.”
“I guess Yaya wants to play for Pep but it depends on what he is thinking and what Pep is thinking. It is a difficult question. He is my younger brother but I leave him to take his decisions for his career.”
The Blues supporters over by the pool tables were concerned about how their club would replace the midfield powerhouse, but it seems that he could be set to stay for at least another year, if his brother’s comments are anything to go by.
Manchester City fans, would you like Toure to stay at the club next season? Let us know in the comments below!
