Newcastle fans here in the Tavern are excited with the news that David Moyes could be set to take over with current manager Steve McClaren expected to be on his way out.
It has been widely reported in many outlets, including in The Sun, and a manager of Moyes’ pedigree is starting to excite the Geordie faithful who have grown sick at the way things have gone for them over the last couple of years.
McClaren always looked like a risky appointment when he signed a three-year contract last summer and it was not an appointment that was popular amongst the fans.
The ones here in the Tavern certainly haven’t been impressed with McClaren and have regularly found themselves drowning their sorrows after a defeat this season.
Recent managerial appointments have not gone down too well but Moyes has a decent track record, despite his Old Trafford era, and it would be an appointment welcomed by the ones in here.
The Scotsman would be an instant hero at St. James’ Park should he manage to keep the club in the Premier League this season, they are currently second bottom with only ten league games remaining, and would then look to establish the club in the Premier League.
He would, at least, have the majority of fans on side and in recent times that would prove that the man in charge is half way to being able to provide what is needed of him.
Newcastle fans, can Moyes save you from the drop? Let us know in the comments below!
