Arsenal romped to victory today with a 4-1 demolition over lowly West Ham United, with the Gunners delivering an excellent performance in front of departing manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners will be once again looking to the summer to go out and sign some new recruits, and there are plenty of players out there who could improve the squad at the Emirates.
Here at the Tavern though, our landlord thinks the Gunners need a few more top class players to really challenge consistently, and he believes signing a proper number nine could be just the ticket for any potential new manager at the club.
One player who stands out as a potential target is Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic, who has been at the top of his game for numerous years now, and he remains a constant goal threat at the top level.
Experienced at the top level, and capable of getting the goals in big games, Mandzukic would offer Liverpool an option which they currently don’t have in that he can hold the ball up, batter defenders, and offer a different option to the pace and in behind running of Lacazette and Aubameyang.
Mandzukic might not be the most glamorous of youngest signing, but he would certainly bring something new to Arsenal. The Gunners simply must improve if they are to get back in and among the title picture, and signing someone like Mandzukic would be a superb addition.
Gunners fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
