Our resident Aston Villa fans have been left disappointed after reports indicated a former Premier League star has rejected the chance to join the struggling side.
29-year old Michu, who is currently playing for Spanish fourth tier outfit UP Langreo, has reportedly rejected the chance to return to England.
The Sun claim that the former Swansea City striker is not keen on a move before the mid-season window closes, but would potentially be interested in a move in the summer.
The Spaniard was released by the Swans in November after a series of injuries ended an impressive spell at the club in which he netted 28 goals in all competitions over two years.
The report claims that Remi Garde’s side made an offer last week, but adds that Michu wants to improve his fitness before moving to a new team.
“I’ve had a few offers but I want to be honest with myself in terms of my fitness so I turned it down. I’m happy with my decision and will wait until summer.”
Our resident Villa fans are disappointed that their club have failed to sign a proven Premier League goalscorer, whilst our landlord believes that they may struggle to avoid relegation if they do not recruit a forward as they are 10 points adrift of safety with just 15 games of the season left.
