The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting their side to beat Liverpool this weekend…
The two sides are set to face off on Saturday, and it’s sure to be a fiery affair. The Red Devils have been flying whilst Liverpool have been, comparatively, sinking – but games between the two clubs are always unpredictable.
It’s sure to be a packed house in the Transfer Tavern, with the Man Utd and Liverpool fans likely to pile inside in equal measure.
However, it looks as though the Man Utd supporters are going to be slightly worse off in the lead-up to the game, with a recent update from fitness expert Ben Dinnery providing some concerning news for the Red Devils.
According to Dinnery, midfielder Marouane Fellaini looks set to miss between 3 and 5 weeks of action, after a scan showed knee ligament damage.

It’s a blow for the Belgian, as he had finally gotten up a head of steam in the Red Devils first team, though it’s undoubtedly more of a blow for Man Utd collectively. The Red Devils are lacking midfield depth at present, with Paul Pogba set for a prolonged stint on the sidelines, and so Fellaini was expected to take up the mantle. Now, though, it appears as though Jose Mourinho will have to look elsewhere.
It’s a frustrating blow for the club, and it means that their upcoming clash with Liverpool is going to be made even more difficult.
This game was going to be difficult at any rate, but with Fellaini looking destined to miss the game, it’s even tougher now.
Fortunately, Ander Herrera could step in to partner Nemanja Matic, and so it’s not the end of the world for Mourinho, but Fellaini’s height and strength would have been key in the midfield.
The Liverpool fans in the pub are happy, and that says everything that needs to be said with regards to this news.
