West Ham United managed to put in a dominant performance against London rivals Fulham on Friday night as they secured an impressive 3-1 win at the London Stadium.
The Hammers have displayed moments of brilliance throughout the current campaign, but one of their biggest problems has been ensuring consistency at all times. However, the London club received a potentially huge boost recently, as according to West Ham’s official website, Fabian Balbuena could return to first-team action this week.
Indeed, the Paraguayan played a key part towards the end of last year as he formed a formidable partnership at the heart of the defence with Issa Diop, before suffering his injury.
But, Manuel Pellegrini provided a positive update on the South American recently, as he stated this:
“Of course, not only Lanzini but Arnautovic is getting fit again and Nasri will be very important. Next week Fabian Balbuena could be back again, so of course I never complained when we didn’t have the results but it’s very difficult to play with 8/9 injured players,”
Fabian Balbuena’s potential return will come as a huge boost for supporters as he was one of the key players during the first half of the season, so he’ll play a big part from here on in until the end of the season.
Also, with a European place still up for grabs the Hammers will be delighted to potentially have him back this week.
