The tricky Lille winger has been on the radar of the Premier League elite since he made his professional debut at the tender age of 16.
Hazard, now 19, has been a prominent figure in Lille’s form over the past few seasons and has become an integral part of the team’s set-up. He has 19 senior caps for the Belgian senior side after making his debut as a 17 year old against Luxembourg. He has also received a glowing reference from none other than Zinedine Zidane who has already earmarked him as a potential Galactico of the future.
Lille of course are unlikely to want to part with their prized possession and will no doubt fight tooth and nail to keep hold of him. But with all three Premiership giants having massive transfer kitty’s price is unlikely to be an obstacle.
Fees of around £10-15 million have been banded about the media of late for the midfield prodigy and Roy Hodgson has gone as far as to watch the youngster in person to gauge his progress.
Hazard has gone on record in the past few days as saying that a move to the Premiership this season is out of the question but, he also left the door open for a possible move in the summer, “I don’t know what I will do next season” he told L’Equipe in a recent interview.
United and Arsenal have also been long term admirers of the wonderkid and his impressive displays in Europe for Lille have done much to persuade them that he could be a constant performer in there European ventures. Whether Hazard stays in France in the next transfer window, it seems it is only a matter of time before he is plying his trade amongst the Premiership elite.
