David De Gea was heavily linked with a summer move to Real Madrid that seemed to be set to be completed on Deadline Day of the Spanish transfer window. The move would have seen Keylor Navas come the other way but, sensationally, a move fell through right at the last.
Speaking about the experience for the first-time, De Gea admitted the situation was tough but he stated it’s helped him mature.
“I had a lot of tough times and I know what it is. We must move forward, working equally and always strong.”
“It’s a learning process that gives football hard moments but that make you mature and grow. These are things that you learn in the world of football. You have to keep working and try to improve in every training session.”
De Gea has since signed a four-year deal at United and the chances of him leaving appear to be dashed, with our regulars believing that the failed move means he will never move to Real Madrid- a bold claim.
