According to daily publication AS, Atletico Madrid have agreed personal terms with Porto’s Radamel Falcao.
The lethal marksman is believed to be seen as the perfect replacement for Sergio Aguero, who completed his £35m to Manchester City last month.
The much admired striker has a €45m release clause; Atletico’s latest offer is believed to be approximately €25m (21.7m) plus Eduardo Salvio, who has struggled to make an impression in Spain.
Although having agreed a fee in principle for Falcao, Porto are yet to be convinced with regards to letting their prized asset go. Falcao has previously stated his desire to play in a bigger league after having proved his worth in Portugal over the last two years.
The Colombian International joined in 2009, signing from Argentinean giants River Plate for €3.9m (£3.4m) and has netted 72 goals in 86 appearances for the Portuguese champions.
