We’ve all been waiting for an update on Radamel Falcao’s future here in the Football Transfer Tavern, and one has arrived courtesy of The Sun
The Colombian striker has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since his spectacular hat-trick against the Blues in the Super Cup final back in September. Chelsea have long looked the favourites for his signature, and a possible deal involving a swap with Fernando Torres has also been mentioned.
The talk has all gone quiet of late though, following Chelsea’s £7 million capture of Demba Ba from Newcastle United – a move that went a long way to suggest Falcao would not be arriving at Stamford Bridge during this transfer window.
But it appears Chelsea by no means are the only side capable of pulling off a deal, with French moneybags outfit Paris Saint Germain also reportedly interested.
Valued at £48m, Falcao has also had his say on the matter.
“France is a really fantastic country — and PSG have an ambitious sporting project in place,” he said.
Make of it what you will.
