Fans respond to Gary Lineker’s take on Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Loads of fans have been responding to Gary Lineker’s simple but accurate take on Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 30-year-old gave the Gunners’ faint Champions League hopes a boost after inspiring his side to a 4-0 win over Newcastle United. He scored the opening goal with a brilliant header before Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette all added to the scoreline, prompting Lineker to describe him as “one hell of a goalscorer”.

It was Aubameyang’s 15th goal of the Premier League campaign, leaving him only behind Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero (16) and Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy (17) in the goalscoring charts. With his contract set to expire next summer, it is no surprise some Arsenal fans are fretting as they call for him to be given a new deal.

He scored 22 league goals last season and is well on course to reach the 20-goal mark once again, so the north London club really need to be doing all they can to keep him at the Emirates.

Take a look at how fans responded to Lineker’s tweet about the Arsenal captain below…
