Fantastic news for Aston Villa fans, club’s £75 million takeover with group to be completed

aston villaaston villaAston Villa fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are optimistic as they are set to have new owners as a deal to sell their club is imminent.

The Mirror have revealed that a Hong Kong based consortium are set to buy the club for £75 million within the next few days, paving the way for Damien Comolli to return to English football.

The Rui Kang Group have negotiated with Randy Lerner for the relegated side and they now want former Tottenham and Liverpool director of football Comolli in charge of the Midlands side.

Paddy Riley is currently the director of scouting and player recruitment at Villa Park but he will be replaced by Comolli, who has been out of the game since he left his post at Anfield in 2012.

As well as being accused of wasting money, Comolli defends his transfers after signing Gareth Bale at Tottenham and bringing Luis Suarez to Liverpool.

Our resident West Ham fans over by the pool table here in the Transfer Tavern are in an ecstatic mood, and hope the club are finally looking up!
