Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have gotten fed up of rumours regarding a change in manager, which have dragged on since mid-December, but it appears they may now finally be getting somewhere.
Amidst speculation that suggests Louis Van Gaal could see out the remainder of his contract, which expires in 2017, The Daily Mail says Jose Mourinho is not prepared to wait until beyond the upcoming summer.
Former Chelsea boss Mourinho has been the favourite to succeed Van Gaal at Old Trafford ever since he was axed by the Blues midway through the season but, with United still in with a chance of sealing a top-four spot and possibly winning the FA Cup, Van Gaal may be entrusted to lead the side for another season.
If that is the case, then United are likely to miss out altogether on Mourinho as the Portuguese boss is eyeing a return to club management this summer and there’s likely to be offers on the table from elsewhere, with former club Inter Milan and French giants Paris Saint-Germain amongst those linked with his services.
