English forward Joe Dixon, 24, has emerged as a shock transfer target for Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Dixon, who played in the same Manchester United youth team as Danny Welbeck was signed by Sam Allardyce for West Ham United in 2012.
Dixon has since been in Istanbul with Fenerbahce board members for talks about a possible move to the Turkish Super Lig champions.
Dixon’s availability has alerted the club’s hierarchy who are keen on bringing him back after a previous spell at the club in 2011.
The Turkish outfit are looking to strengthen their forward ranks and are thought to be big admirers of Dixon’s lightning quick pace.
Whilst at West Ham, Dixon clocked an official GPS score (measure of a players speed) of 9.7, putting him ahead in the speed stakes of Gareth Bale (9.6), Cristiano Ronaldo (9.3) Theo Walcott (9.1) and Lionel Messi (9.0).
