Fergie’s Original Fledgling To Spurs Isn’t As Silly As It Sounds…But It’s Not David Beckham

Shock reports are emerging that now with the Steven Pienaar to Spurs move almost a done deal that apparently another Everton player would like to join him.  And it’s none other than Club captain and Mr. Everton himself, that consummate professional – Phil Neville.

Yes, at first it would seem ludicrous that he would leave Goodison but a source very close to the action has said that with the help of the player’s agent, it could yet happen.  Harry Redknapp does probably need cover at right back, and is keen on signing the odd experienced pro (David Beckham, William Gallas, Sol Campbell).  The only thing that Spurs need to add to their squad is the belief that they can push for the title, so can Neville deliver this belief?  It’s not a signing to set the world alight but he’s been there and done it, so could it happen?

As the Pienaar transfer looks likely to be finalised, and David Bentley heads to Birmingham, it also looks as if Seb Larsson will jump on the transfer merry-go-round and head to Goodison.  Will Moyes be happy to see his Club captain leave and a Birmingham cast-off arrive?

Surely this would leave Moyes furious and pondering his own future?
