Fergie’s Successor Shows Himself, At Last

Yes, we all knew it was coming but finally the only man who can realistically take over from Sir Alex when he goes has declared his interest – the shy, retiring Jose Mourinho.

With the biggest ego in world football (and arguably rightly so) he is the only man to step into the hot seat at Old Trafford, and now he wants the job.

At the LMA function on Sunday night, ‘The Special One’ declared that England felt like home and spent the majority of the night complementing and praising Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mourinho has before said he wanted to return to the Premiership, and had expressed an interest in managing either Man Utd or Liverpool, and whilst a return to Chelsea looks unlikely, it’s almost certain that the Stretford End would welcome him with open arms.

His CV speaks for itself.  With European titles – and domestic achievements across Europe – he has shown the ability to manage on a shoestring or with a huge budget and always delivers, this season with goals and attacking football at Real Madrid.

Now Mourinho wants another crack at the Premiership, so move over Fergie…
