Despite Manchester United being linked to expensive purchases in the summer window including Hazard and Kagawa, the Daily Mail has reported that Manchester United might be able to land Rayo Vallecano star, Michu, for a slashed sum.
Although Michu is the highest scoring midfielder in Spain for last season, the financial problems of the club (Rayo Vallecano) could see the Spanish footballer leave for as little as £2 million. But, as it stands, the 26 year old has said:
“I still do not have an offer on the table [from Manchester United].”
Are United going to go small this transfer window or invest the money into players mentioned earlier who are international stars and have played in elite competitions?
In 37 games he has played this season, he has scored 15 and assisted 3, which means he will score or assist a goal every other game on average. And with players such as Rooney and Welbeck who will be the target men for Michu if he does join United, you could easily expect his number of assists to climb up rapidly.
With Liverpool, Fulham, Stoke City, West Brom and Wigan all being linked to this summer bargain, Manchester United will need to act quickly in order to secure the signature of Michu, and in turn, help to improve their squad to challenge their Manchester rivals for the Premier League trophy next season.
