Celtic Midfielder Biram Kayal has earned the admiration of Ferguson as the Jewish Times reports that a deal is on the table.
The former most valuable Israeli player whilst playing for the U19’s, Kayal has performed well so far at Celtic after joining on a four year deal last year. His agent, Dudu Dahan, said that “nobody would be surprised” if Kayal ended up at Man United.
The player himself has acknowledged the interest as “flattering and heart-warming” but expressed his loyalty to Celtic and his focus on winning the SPL title. After coming through the ranks at Maccabi Haifa – playing for the U19 team at the age of 16 and winning the league and cup double – he made over 90 appearances for Haifa and won two titles.
The tenacious midfielder will give Ferguson another option in the midfield with Hargreaves days looking to be numbered. He has great stamina and performs well in his natural position of defensive mid. At only 22 there is plenty of time for Kayal to prove his worth at Man United and would jump at the chance to join such a prestigious club in the summer.
Rumours indicate that a free of around £10 million will be needed to force Celtic’s hand as they will want a big fee for a player who only joined in July last year. With 12 appearances so far for the Hoops the future looks bright for the Israel international and he would do well at Man United.
