Tottenham Hotspur’s victory over Newcastle United earlier on today has moved them ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League table, with the Citizens set to face Arsenal tomorrow.
Spurs failed to spend a single penny in the January transfer window after a disappointing summer, so supporters will be praying that Mauricio Pochettino can get the best out of his current batch of players from here on in.
However, one of the club’s current first-team members is attracting interest at this moment in time, as according to talkSPORT, clubs in Turkey and China are interested in signing Fernando Llorente this summer.
Turkish side Galatasaray and clubs in China are interested in signing Llorente this summer.
Interestingly, the 33-year-old ace has six months left on his current Spurs deal, but he wants to sign a new deal.
The Spaniard has been influential for the North London club in recent times as he continues to fill the huge void left by Harry Kane, so he’s definitely deserved of a new contract.
Fernando Llorente has found the back of the net six times in the current campaign, but he only has one in the Premier League, so the London club might wait and see how he fares in the coming weeks before entering talks.
The 33-year-old still looks to have plenty of life left in him, so offering him a new deal would be a sensible move, considering they’re light on options at the pinnacle of the attack.
