Fernando Llorente could help Leeds survive in the Premier League if they get promoted

So far this season, Leeds have played some of the best football in the Championship, if not in the country, and look like they’re going to be one of the leading contenders for promotion.

With Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, the Yorkshire club have turned into one of the most entertaining sides in the country. Leading the way, Kemar Roofe and Samu Saiz have established themselves as two of the best players in the league, while at the back, they’ve also been incredibly solid.

Over the summer, Leeds didn’t spend too much money on the squad which makes their current performances even more impressive. Barry Douglas and Patrick Bamford were the only two permanent signings made over the summer, with Leeds making four loan signings.

While there’s still a lot of the season left to play, Leeds look like they could have a good chance of finally returning to the Premier League. If they do reach the top division, they must strengthen or they could face being relegated.

One player who could add something to Leeds if they get promoted is current Tottenham Hotspur striker, Fernando Llorente.

Valued at £6.3 million, the Spaniard was part of Bielsa’s Athletic Bilbao team, a club where he spent nine years of his career at.

Since making the move to Tottenham, Llorente has had to settle with a backup role behind Harry Kane. That will likely never change and as he is now entering the final year of his career, he could present Leeds with a very cheap alternative to Kemar Roofe.
