There has been plenty of talk surrounding Fernando Llorente’s future at Tottenham Hotspur recently.
The Spaniard’s current contract at Spurs is up in the summer and is unlikely to be short of options, especially if he continues to perform well as he deputises for Harry Kane.
However, it appears the 33-year-old would be more than happy to remain in north London, as he has admitted he would be ‘delighted’ to sign a new deal if he were to be offered one.
Speaking to AS following Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday, he said: “If I renew for a year, I am delighted, the project is exciting here in Tottenham, but we will be attentive to any call that may come.”
And, it appears he has had a call about an offer from a side in Spain.
“They did not call me from Bilbao, but there was a call from another place in Spain… that call was not from the south,” he added.
Llorente’s situation at Tottenham is fairly intriguing, as he has started to give Mauricio Pochettino something to think about.
The Spaniard has been doing a brilliant job in filling the void left by Kane in recent weeks, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.
Whether he has done enough to earn himself a new contract with Spurs remains to be seen, however, it appears he will not be short of offers if he does leave north London this summer.
