This is all because the Daily Star reports that they could well be victim of a very complicated deal between Atletico Madrid and AC Milan, meaning they will miss out on Alessio Cerci.
The Italian international forward has been a top target for Arsene Wenger and after his move to La Liga champions Atleti went from bad to worse, the club have settled on a rather novel way of getting rid of him.
They are reportedly trying to include him in a deal for former hero Fernando Torres who AC Milan are also desperate to get rid of.
The Rossoneri have experienced troubles in parting with loan ace Torres given his parent club Chelsea are understandably unwilling to take him back.
Our landlord notes that this would certainly be a massive head-scratcher and given Chelsea are also keen on Cerci, this rumour could run and run.
However as a couple of our regular La Liga viewers note, Torres could well end up doing Wenger a favour if he does prevent a deal for Cerci who has been an unprecedented flop since his move to Alteti.
The former Torino star does not look to have the necessary attributes to make it in the Premier League either.
Arsenal fans. Could Cerci be your saviour or is he totally the wrong type of player to be looking at this January? Let us know your thoughts below.
