‘Fingers crossed Klopp wakes up’ – Liverpool fans voice support for outcast on Twitter

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely enthralled by their sides devastating Champions League performance last night…

Liverpool secured their passage to the knockout stages of the Champions League with a thumping 7-0 victory over a hapless Spartak Moscow at Anfield. Rather remarkably, it was the second time this season that Liverpool had managed to score 7 goals in a group match after they taught NK Maribor a footballing lesson back in October to defeat the Slovenian’s by the same scoreline.

Overall, it was a brilliant night for Liverpool, but an injury collected by Alberto Moreno as the first-half drew to a close left a sour taste in the mouth after an otherwise perfect evening.

Moreno looked in some distress as he walked off the field in tears to be replaced by James Milner.

Jurgen Klopp later confirmed in his post-match interview that Moreno is now a major doubt for the hotly-anticipated Merseyside derby on Sunday.

The injury to Moreno could potentially pave the way for Andrew Robertson to fill the void and stake a claim for a first-team spot.

Robertson has struggled to cement a regular starting berth in The Reds first-team eleven since his move from Hull City in the summer, but the Liverpool fans appear to have confidence in the Scottish international to prove his worth in Moreno’s absence.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Robertson ahead of the Merseyside derby…
