Though the week may be drawing to a close, the talk is non-stop among our punters here in the Transfer Tavern.

This week, there has been much debate over Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard. This comes after Sky Sports' Guillem Ballague stated that the Real Madrid star wanted to leave the Bernabeau on loan, in order to gain some more first team experience.

Odegaard, who is still only sixteen years old, joined the Spanish giants from Stromsgodset last year, but has since only made one appereance for the first team. Instead, he has spent most of the time with Castilla, or 'Real Madrid B'.

Of course, given that he is only 16, Odegaard has plenty of time to reach his full potential. However, it appears that he is intent on doing it as quickly as possible by seeking first team football elsewhere.

Given his talent, he will have several suitors lining up to take him on loan for sure. Below are five possible destinations he could go.

Celtic

St Johnstone v Celtic - Scottish Premiership

Reports in the Mirror last summer showed that Celtic may have already tried to take Odegaard on loan this summer. Celtic Park could be an ideal venue for the youngster, where he is more than likely to get a good taste of first team football. Furthermore, the physical demands of the Scottish league could certainly provide him with some greater toughness.

Real Sociedad

Odegaard could of course stay in Spain and link up with David Moyes' Sociedad outfit. Moyes' side are currently struggling nearer the bottom of the table, and Odegaard's talent could certainly provide them with a lift, while it would be a different but nonetheless useful experience for him. Moyes' has also been well known for giving youth a chance during his days as Everton and Manchester United manager, which is another positive for Odegaard.

Everton

Everton v Liverpool - Barclays Premier League

Perhaps a surprise choice, but Roberto Martinez is also another manager who is not afraid to give youth a chance. Having played a huge part in Ross Barkley's continued development, as well as overseeing the likes of John Stones, Brendan Galloway and Luke Garbutt's rise into the first team. A move to the Premier league could certainly suit Odegaard, and again provide further development to his game.

AS Monaco

Stephan El Shaarawy

With Monaco having lost a lost of their attacking stars in the form of Falcao, Rodriguez and Martial in recent years, Odegaard could help to fill this void while gaining some experience of his own. Monaco currently sit mid-table in Ligue 1, and Odegaard could hopefully provide the French outfit the lift to get them back in the European places.

SL Benfica

He is the first player to move from Benfica to Liverpool

Finally, a short move to Portugal could also be another useful option for Odegaard. Benfica are another side currently sitting in mid-table, and Odegaard could be a useful short term move that could suit both parties. It wouldn't be too far for Madrid to keep a close eye on him, while he would still be playing a very competitive standard of football.
