FIVE fixtures where Chelsea’s ‘Invincibles’ tilt could falter

A) Southampton - 28/12/2014Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern could not be much happier with how things have gone so far this season.

The Blues sit six points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, have qualified from their Champions League group comfortably and face Derby County in the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup.

It is the Premier League in which the Blues have really caught the eye however, winning eight of their opening 10 matches – only dropping points to late equalisers in away games with Manchester City and Manchester United.

Everton have been disposed of at Goodison Park, whilst Arsenal were comfortably brushed aside at Stamford Bridge. And Jose Mourinho takes his side to Anfield as overwhelming favourites this weekend, in a game that could see the Blues end any hopes of a Reds title for the second time in six months.

There has even been talk of this Chelsea side emulating the Arsenal team of 2003/04 and going the whole season unbeaten.

Whilst Mourinho has been keen to rule such a possibility out, the way in which Chelsea have started the season means this is an idea that should be ruled out completely.

However, we have identified five fixtures in which the Blues could see their ‘Invincibles’ challenge falter.
