Liverpool eased the pressure growing on manager Brendan Rodgers with a much needed 1-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday.
Glen Johnson’s 85th minute winner brought an end to a run of six matches in all competitions without a win and took the Reds up to the dizzy heights of 11th in the table.
Whilst there is plenty of work to be done yet, the win over Stoke and the battling draw in Ludogorets last week are steps in the right direction for the Reds who have endured a miserable start to the 2014/15 season.
Goals have been especially hard to come by with Daniel Sturridge having missed the Reds last 17 matches in all competitions through injury.
Whilst Rickie Lambert has managed two goals and an assist in his last three starts, Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini are yet to fire in the Premier League and with defensive probelms there for all to see, changes need to be made quickly if the Reds are to manage a top four finish this season.
