Discontent is the name of the game at St. James’ Park and after their start to the season, who can blame them? The results are not going their way and the fans have had enough. This is all after the club actually made some decent looking summer signings.

Never the most stable of clubs, when the chips are down the fans turn on their managers and indeed their owner – although as our punters point out over our Champions League beer and pizza special, more often than not, Mike Ashley deserves it.

The Magpies’ fanbase is huge, the stadium massive. The players? Not so much, and the manager? No way according to the Magpies faithful in our tavern. So with that in mind, our landlord asks us who we think could be the top five candidates to replace Pardew – and here are our picks.
