Flamini linked with North London return with Spurs

Mathieu Flamini is in line for a shock return to the Premiership as Harry Redknapp prepares to bring the French man back to North London.

The Daily Mail claim that Tottenham will move for the 25 year old midfielder after he failed to make an impression at AC Milan having moved there for free from Arsenal in 2008. Since joining AC, Flamini has found opportunities in the first team hard to come by and when he has played it has been out of position at full back.

Redknapp is keen to add depth in the center of midfield as he only has Wilson Palacios, Tom Huddlestone and Jermaine Jenas competiting for places but The Daily Mail claim any deal will be dependent on Redknapp being able to offload both David Bentley and Roman Pavlyuchenko first.

If Spurs are able to guarantee Flamini, who still harbours dreams of making France’s World Cup squad, a place in midfield then they will drastically improve their chances of securing his signature as he has reiterated it is there that he will be able to produce his best form,

‘I don’t want to play as a full-back, I am a midfielder.’
