Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t been too fussed about the Premier League finale today, as they have their sights firmly set on this week’s Europa League final, so they’ve spent the majority of the afternoon discussing transfer reports.
It appears they’ve been handed a surprise boost in their quest to land a quality signing, as Metro quote Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer as urging unsettled Bayern Munich ace Mario Gotze to seek a summer move to Liverpool.
‘I would, in his place, go to a place where I feel comfortable. I have the impression that Mario has not felt right in Munich and also has not been understood, so that he could show his full potential.’
‘I would in his place go where I am comfortable and follow in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp.’
Gotze, of course, achieved great success previously with Klopp at Borussia Dortmund but Liverpool’s potential absence from the Champions League next season could have a severe dent to their hopes of landing his signature.
Will Gotze reunite with Klopp at Liverpool? Let us know in the comments below!
