Forget Bertrand: Tottenham shouldn’t waste their money and sign £19.8m-rated star instead

Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure a top-four spot, after being knocked out by Juventus in the Champions League earlier on in the current campaign.

Indeed, Spurs have been one of the form teams in the Premier League so far this season and they even managed to establish themselves as title contenders towards the start of the current campaign. However, times have changed since then as they’re now fighting for a Champions League place, with anything less being seen as a disaster by many of our local residents.

Interestingly, it appears as if Spurs have been looking towards the summer transfer window, as Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly preparing a £30 million bid for Ryan Bertrand. Although, this wouldn’t be a very smart decision for the Argentine to make in the summer, as there’re plenty of better options out there that can offer more experience at a higher level.

Therefore, here’s who our local punters think Tottenham should bring to North London instead…

Layvin Kurzawa

The Frenchman – who is valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt – has established himself as one of the most exciting left-backs in the whole of world football during the current campaign, as he has managed to incorporate goals and assists into his game.

Indeed, Spurs could benefit from having the 25-year-old in their squad next season as Ben Davies doesn’t offer much of an attacking outlet, with Layvin Kurzawa’s pace and power giving Mauricio Pochettino’s side an added threat in the final third.

And, having featured in the Champions League for current club Paris Saint-Germain, it’s safe to say that the defender will be able to have a positive effect on proceedings at the highest level in Europe for years to come.
