Make no mistake, Unai Emery’s influence has been huge at Arsenal this season. He couldn’t have picked a tougher job than by replacing Arsene Wenger, yet the Spaniard has come in and done the job brilliantly.
He’s changed a lot since the days under Wenger, and it’s evident that over the coming months, even more changes will surely come.
However, whilst his importance cannot be doubted, it’s also clear that it’s not all down to him.
Indeed, some of Arsenal’s players deserve just as much, if not more praise. They’ve really hit the ground running this term, and they could be the difference for the club this term.
With that said, Arsenal’s amazing turnaround is down to these 2 players – agreed?
Alexandre Lacazettee impressed last season, and he’s done the same this term. However, the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made things even better.
The forward is versatile, in that he’s able to play both out wide and through the middle, and whilst Arsenal haven’t been faultless this term, the influence of their attack has been huge.
Aubameyang has been vital to everything that the Gunners have done going forward.
Indeed, the combination that Aubameyang is forming with Lacazette is going to be deadly for Arsenal in the coming weeks and months, and so the arrival of the Gabonese forward and his subsequent involvement under Emery has been a real gamechanger.
He’s not the most exciting player, but boy is Sokratis useful.
Arsenal’s defence has been a problem over the last few years, They’ve signed a handful of players, but none of them have quite been able to sort things out. Inconsistency has been a problem, and whilst many individuals have had bags of talent, sometimes it’s been the wrong sort of talent.
Sokratis is less of a technical wizard at the back, but he’s solid and robust, and sometimes that’s just what you need.
He’s not going to be pulling out any fancy tricks or exciting passes, but what he will offer is consistency and talent in a defence that desperately needs it.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
