Forget West Ham: Benitez should stick with Newcastle and sign this £17.1m-rated player

Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern will be hoping that Rafa Benitez stays at the club this summer, as the Magpies could be in deep trouble if they end up losing him.

Of course, it’s important for Newcastle United to strengthen their side this summer after a rather stressful campaign, as they won’t want to flirt with the possibility of relegation next season.

However, they will want to sort out their current managerial situation, as West Ham United are trying to lure Rafa Benitez to the London Stadium after saying goodbye to David Moyes recently. But, it looks as if this would be a bad move for the Spaniard as the Hammers were poor this season, so a move to the English capital would be seen as a downgrade.

Therefore, Benitez should stick with Newcastle United and look to bring in a number of world-class players this summer, as they may be able to challenge for a European spot next season

So without further ado, Benitez should stick with Newcastle United and sign this player…

Bas Dost

Bas Dost, who is valued at £17.1 million (by Transfermarkt), has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in world football this season, having scored 34 goals and assisted seven for his teammates.

Indeed, the Dutchman had a spectacular fall-out with his current club Sporting Lisbon’s president, which lead to speculation that he wants out in the summer. Of course, this is great news for a club like Newcastle United as they’re in desperate need of a striker that can ensure consistency, having witnessed Joselu’s inconsistencies this season.

And, with Rafa Benitez reportedly ready to break Newcastle’s transfer record for a striker this summer, perhaps he should look to splash the cash on Bas Dost.
