There is a piece of news today in the Football Transfer Tavern that has reached our ears via HITC Sport and it is certainly getting Arsenal fans talking.
It has been claimed that one of their former players – Carlos Vela could well be on their radar once again. Never really making the grade at the Emirates Stadium in the first place, Vela made the permanent move to Real Sociedad last year and has been the star of the show at the Anoeta.
After never really getting a chance under Wenger on a consistent basis, and being loaned out for most of his time in England it came as a shock for most to learn that in 27 games for the La Liga side, Vela has netted a whopping 12 times and not only this but he has also managed to add 10 assists to his impressive stats. The club are now looking to a top four spot in Spain and this is in no small part down to Mexican international Vela.
Arsenal did place a buy back clause in the player’s contract of around 4.2 million euros and Sociedad are more than a little worried about this, attempting to cancel this clause all together. They need not worry however as Vela himself admitted how happy he was in Spain and said: “I am happy, they are giving me love and trust and letting me play as I know. They give me my freedom and things are going well with the team also.”
Will Vela make something of a surprise return to Arsenal? Rate this rumour below.
