While Arsenal fans are reminiscing tonight’s game against Bayern Munich in the Football Transfer Tavern, there is a little something else going on as well courtesy of the Daily Express.
The publication has claimed that a former Arsenal star could well be on his way back to the club.
Former Gunner Alex Song has made it very clear that he has no intention of seeing his career out at Barcelona and is in fact eyeing a move back to the Premier League.
The Cameroonian has not hit the heights at the Camp Nou, and is not a fan favourite either, yet Arsenal fans remember him fondly, and it seems the player feels the same away about his former club and specifically Arsene Wenger.
Song spoke about his future and a move away from the Camp Nou and claimed: “If I leave Barcelona it will be to return to the Premier League. I will return to England one day, that’s for sure.”
He also made it very clear that he still respects his former manager Wenger and noted: “He was like a father to me.
“He spoke a lot with me when I arrived to Arsenal.
“I wanted to renew my contract with Arsenal but in that case I would have regretted not joining Barcelona.’
Manchester United are also thought to be keen on the player but our punters think Arsenal are clearly still in his heart.
Arsenal fans. Would you take Alex Song back in a heartbeat or has the club moved on from requiring his services again? Let us know your thoughts below.
