Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern look almost resigned to hearing the latest news from Metro, after the publication claimed that one of the forwards at the club is looking to leave in the summer.
Over the last couple of days we have examined the future of just about the entire forward line, and it seems that along with Javier Hernandez, Robin van Persie looks like he will be on his way out of the club.
The Dutchman’s relationship with David Moyes has come under a huge deal of pressure this season, but it is the way he interacts with his team-mates that has caused us more concern.
The relationship with Wayne Rooney, on the field at least, has caused some raised eyebrows and seems to be getting worse with each passing game.
Now it seems that the rumours were right. RVP is lusting after a move back to his former club Arsenal, who he did not exactly leave on good terms – yet has clearly kept a soft spot for the Gunners.
Even the harshest of Arsenal fans would tell you that they need a world class finisher this summer, and the one thing that is not in doubt is that RVP certainly is that.
Can Arsenal fans forgive and forget or did van Persie cause too much heartache to return? Let us know your thoughts below.
