Former Chelsea and Tottenham manager distances himself from Southampton post

A draw with Andre Villas-Boas and Zenit The Southampton fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing comments made by an ex Tottenham manager with regards to taking over at their club.

The Daily Echo is reporting that Andre Villas Boas is not interested in taking the job at St Marys should Ronald Koeman be confirmed as the new Everton manager.

The Portuguese manager left Russian side Zenit St Petersburg at the end of last season and is currently a free agent but he confirmed that he is looking to take at least six months out of the game and is not interested in making the move back to England at the moment.

The news is another bitter blow for the heirachy at Southampton following Ronald de Boer’s agent confirming the Dutchman would not be joining the South Coast club this summer, and Unai Emery tipped to take over the reigns at PSG this summer.
