Former Chelsea coach to REPLACE Arsene Wenger at Arsenal?

Paul ClementSome Arsenal fans are looking up like they cannot believe their luck here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro report that not only has Arsene Wenger provisionally agreed to leave the club; he has also agreed on a replacement.

However, as one of our punters notes, it will be a while before the Gunners get rid of their long serving boss with Wenger claiming that he will be staying for at least this season and the following one.

However, in the latest turn of events, the French tactician is not totally dismissing the idea that Paul Clement (pictured left) could replace him as the Arsenal boss after that.

Clement is currently working under Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti and is building a solid reputation, having previously accumulated experience at Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

As our regulars note, working at Real Madrid allows Clement access to the very best players in the world and the very biggest egos and we think that if he can handle the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and co, replacing Wenger at Arsenal would be no problem for him!

Some of our Arsenal fans admit that they will be really sad to see Wenger go but make the point that without him, they might actually think differently about how to mount a realistic Premier League title challenge.

Arsenal fans. Do you know a lot about Paul Clement? Do you think Arsenal are more likely to go down this route than landing a Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola? Let us know your thoughts below.
