Former Chelsea star has no Stamford Bridge exit regrets

Mourinho does not regret letting Juan Mata leave The Daily Star has Manchester United fans smiling for once here in the Football Transfer Tavern, as they claim that one of the club’s star players has no regrets at all about joining the Red Devils.

Juan Mata of course left Chelsea after failing to break into the first team on a consistent basis under Jose Mourinho, and we had wondered if the player was actually beginning to regret his move.

United are not in contention for any trophies this season and look like being in the Europa League next term – at the very best.

Of course this has led to a couple of quips that Mata could well be looking for the receipt from his transfer, but according to the player, that is not the case at all.

In fact, unlike Robin van Persie, he waxed lyrical about his side. Mata claimed: “That 3-0 win at West Brom was really important.

“I’m talking about the three points, of course, but also about the performance.

“We saw samples of what the team is capable of, and we got very positive feelings.

“I enjoyed myself on the pitch and at the end of the day that’s what you want when you play football, at all levels.

“I would like to highlight our three consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League.”
