Metro have a claim that Chelsea fans are rather happy with here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
They claim that one of the club’s biggest legends could well be about to make a return this summer.
The player in question is Didier Drogba, who is of course preparing to play his former club this week in Europe, then coming back to Stamford Bridge in March – and we cannot wait.
Now it has become even more intriguing with the news that Roman Abramovich is determined to see the player return in the summer.
The Ivorian forward is out of contract with Galatasaray at the end of the season and is looking to end his Turkish adventure and as our landlord tells us over a pint, Drogba’s wife and kids are still living in West London.
That, along with his relationship with Jose Mourinho are the key factors in the Chelsea owner’s belief that he can land Drogba.
The plan is to bring him back as a coach, not a player – but as one of our punters notes, should Chelsea miss out on a forward this summer or even buy another flop, the chances of Drogba putting his boots back on once again are not that remote!
Would you bring Drogba back to the Bridge? Let us know your thoughts below.
