The Football Transfer Tavern is enjoying a busy evening as transfer speculation picks up after the conclusion of the midweek Premier League action.
One club not to be involved was Manchester City who saw their home match against Sunderland postponed only hours before kick off.
However that hasn’t prevented City fans coming in the bar and they have been met with news from talkSPORT that former boss Roberto Mancini is lining up a summer raid for one of his former stars in Matija Nastasic.
Mancini brought the Serbian to the Premier League while handing the youngster his debut at the Etihad Stadium following with arrival from Fiorentina in August 2012.
He has already made over 50 appearances for the Citizens but punters believe he seems to have suffered a dip in form during the current season, with only 13 league starts for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
It appears that the Chilean boss has decided to move for Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala for next season and that could see the Serbian international surplus to requirements.
At 20-years-old, Mancini recognises that the young Serbian has a lot of development left him in and is reportedly keen on taking the centre back to Turkey during the post-season.
Nastasic is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2017 so the Premier League outfit would be looking to recoup some of the £12 million paid for his services only two years ago.
Do you think City would have any interest selling Nastasic? Let us know your thoughts below.
